Produced from high purity ore, olivine sands are used for the most demanding non-ferrous and manganese steel casting applications. Our olivine sands produce castings with closer dimensional control, better casting accuracy, and a smoother surface finish. These results are achievable due to olivine’s unique combination of low, uniform thermal expansion, high refractoriness, and high heat absorption. Olivine’s primary mineral will more completely activate bentonite clay in green sand systems to maximize bond performance. Olivine efficiently produces cores, molds, and shell sands with optimum strength and refractoriness from the new class of environmentally friendly inorganic and traditional organic resin binder systems.

We offer olivine sand in 3000 lb: Super sacks or 50 lb. bags. Olivine is produced in the following sizes: 16 AFS, 45 AFS, 75 AFS, and 120 AFS.
